I love this recipe. Plain and simple. Why? because who can deny the comfort of a warm mug of hot chocolate mixed with the medicinal benefits of incredible herbs and ingredients?! Lets think of this as cadbury’s older and more sophisticated sibling in taste and presence. All the comfort, and more of the rewards. Perfect for heading into this time of year that not only has us craving something warm and nourishing, but also gives us a bit of balance that often seems hard to manage around the holiday season. Also, It makes a beautiful little homemade gift! This is the recipe for the mix… and the preparation. But you will have plenty leftover for multiple cups to store and gift.

Why Drink This? Maca assists with energy, and hormone balancing. A true superfood. Cinnamon works to help keep your blood sugars balanced and preventing spikes. And raw cacao filled with magnesium, calming to the system and providing many antioxidants to ward off free radicals. There are so many helpful ingredients on this list, but these are the biggies that you’ll get the benefit from.

For even more added benefits… see the options below that I add in, and even consider adding a dose of your favourite CBD tincture to level up even more.

Store the dry mix in a mason jar or jar with lid. It will store very nicely for quite some time in a cool dark place.

To prepare and serve your hot chocolate you can either

a) Warm up 1.5 cups of non dairy milk, (i use almond) and combine it with 2 Tbls of the above mix. Heat, Stir and Serve.

or

b) If you have a vitamix, you can blend your mix, milk, and sweetener and blend on the soup setting until warm
